Man Utd loan James Wilson to Derby

Manchester United have confirmed that James Wilson will join Derby County on a season long loan.

The 20-year-old has been among the transfer speculation this summer, with several teams from the English Football League chasing the forward, but he has finally joined Nigel Pearson’s squad.

And, having spent the majority of last season on loan at Brighton, where he scored five goals in 28 games to help the Seagulls finish in third spot, missing out on promotion on goal difference, Wilson will now look to shine with Derby.

Wilson, who has scored four goals in 20 first-team appearances for United, had more than 12 offers including clubs that wanted to take him on permanent deals.

As far as I’m concerned, a loan was inevitable after the arrival of Zlatan Ibrahimovic but I am very anxious his loan spell at Derby could turn out to be ultimately non-beneficial to him much like the Brighton loan was.

The England U20 global featured in United’s first pre-season outing but the writing was on the wall when he wasn’t given a squad number for the 2016/17 campaign.

The journalist claims Wilson will move to the Championship side until the end of the season, but the striker is unlikely to play for Derby County against Aston Villa on Saturday. The Rams are an ambitious side and their manager, Nigel Pearson, knows how to get the best out of the young players.
