Thursday’s weather: Another sunny and hot day

The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook for today for several counties in northeastern Pa., including Luzerne. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain.

Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly before 11pm. Wind: NW/SE 5-10. High: 84. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent.

Tonight, showers and thunderstorms are likely, mainly before 8 p.m. South winds 9 to 11 miles per hour. New rainfall amounts up to a half an inch possible.

Today’s high may be near 91, according to the National Weather Service, with a heat index of middle to upper 90s this afternoon. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 66. South winds 10 to 20 miles per hour. Partly sunny, with a high near 83.

Expected late Sunday afternoon and into the evening, the storms could produce strong winds, hail and heavy rainfall along with unsafe cloud-to-ground lightning, the agency said.

Tuesday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 62.

Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 85.

Friday night, the low will be around 66, with an 80 percent chance of precipitation and a south wind of 9 to 14 miles per hour becoming west after midnight, according to the weather service.

Monday: Sunny, with a high near 89.

Tue: High: 88 Low: 68 A.M. showers/storms, then partly cloudy, breezy.

This will provide a focus for scattered showers and thunderstorms.

Friday.Mostly sunny, with a high near 81.
