Amy Schumer addresses Kurt Metzger controversy

She’s nominated in four categories, including a nomination for Lead Actress in a comedy for Inside Amy Schumer. It came in defense of fellow comedian Aaron Glaser who was banned from a few NYC comedy clubs after several women accused him of rape.

“I usually would go for narcissists who, you know, could never be happy”, she admitted. The comedian was a writer on the most recent season of Inside Amy Schumer.

But she’ll have to take a break from all that to show up at the Emmy Awards next month.

While Mr. Metzger has worked on her Comedy Central series in the past, she explained that he’s not now her writer because there are “no plans for the TV show to come back anytime in the near future”. “His words are not mine”.

Questions about the future of Schumer’s television series arose late Wednesday when she tweeted, “we aren’t making the show anymore”. “There are no writers for it”.

Comedy Central renewed Inside Amy Schumer for a fifth season in January.

Her next tweet reads, “Doing Standup and focusing on writing more for the next year at least”.

She continued that though she has asked Metzger to refrain from posting similar content, the focus on him has distracted from what she views as the real problem. “To focus your energy on online trolling, if I did that, I wouldn’t get anything done”, she said.

You don’t have to crawl inside the head of Amy Schumer to understand her less-than cryptic tweet.

Meanwhile, Amy has just released her first book, Girl With The Lower Back Tattoo. “Right now there are no plans for the TV show to come back in the near future, so nobody is on my staff”, she shared.

The Kurt in the tweet is comic Kurt Metzger, who since Sunday has been dealing with social-media backlash for his comments regarding alleged sexual assault. She said: “I didn’t fire Kurt”.
