BMW Concept M4 GTS – the pinnacle of street-legal racers
Along with the concept’s reveal, BMW also confirmed that a production version will follow in 2016 without providing any further details. Except, there were changes. Well, today marks official acknowledgment of its existence.

The seats might be beautifully trimmed, but the shells are carbonfibre and, according to BMW, “reflect the anatomy of the seated driver”. Both of these products were landmarks.
This ultra high-performance M4 GTS will be a beast on the track and will draw lots of attention anywhere it goes. The technology used in its development and production will be making its way into lesser models in the future and we’re referring to water injection here in particular and OLED lighting. It’s all about the driver – with a special high-tech racing suit and visor – relaying as much information about the track and any race data.
Although this is being labeled a concept, the wording on the released notes make it very clear. Unlike those models, it isn’t sold in the U.S. This translates to more horsepower and torque, along with a long-term benefit of increased engine longevity.
Until then, take it all in for now.
Previous special models from BMW’s M division include the 1988 M3 Evolution, 1990 M3 Sport Evolution, 2003 M3 CSL, 2010 M3 GTS and 2011 M3 CRT.
“Despite its outstanding track ability, it is still fully road-legal”. It will not be a simple process considering the BMW M4 GTS’ emissions, safety and other requirements necessary.
On the outside, the auto is dressed in Frozen Dark Grey Metallic paint while Acid Orange accents on the front splitter and wheels create a lovely effect.
However, the M4 GTS isn’t all about efficiency.
BMW did not discuss improvements in fuel economy, but it has said that water injection can boost the numbers in that area as well. The M Division has taken the M4 and given it a heavy injection of steroids.
Unfortunately, BMW has decided to not reveal power figures for the reengineered turbocharged 3.0 litre six-cylinder engine. Additionally, the turbos are cooled by their own electric water pump. The rear light design is particularly distinctive, a strip of LEDs extending along the spoiler to link the two lights and providing a stylistic border for the rear end.
The Concept M4 GTS is also “racetrack ready”, the spokesman said.

And then a vehicle named the M4 GTS showed up in BMW’s dealership ordering system, adding the final piece of the puzzle, reports Motor Authority.
