13 people shot, wounded at Connecticut house party

An apparent ambush shooting on Plymouth Street early Sunday morning during a house party injured 13 people, with one victim left in critical condition, police said. It happened at about 1:30 a.m. Sunday at a house on Plymouth Street. One female is in critical condition with a gunshot wound to the face. Eleven victims suffered gunshot wounds to the lower extremities that are not life threatening, according to officials. Another man sustained a shotgun blast to the face but his wounds were not life-threatening.

Bridgeport police believe two shooters opened fire on about 100 partygoers from behind some hedges surrounding the home’s backyard.

He said the suspects shot at people both inside and outside the home.

Police had made no arrests and was still investigating the possible motives behind the shooting.

Anyone with information should contact the police at 203-576-8477. Some were taken by private vehicle to St. Vincent’s Hospital and Bridgeport Hospital, and others were transported by ambulance to Bridgeport Hospital.
