Clinton Campaign: Not Worried About Biden Joining Race

When Beau Biden realized that he was going to die amid a battle with brain cancer earlier this year, he sat down with his father and asked him to make a promise: Run for president in 2016. Seventy-two percent of Democrats and Democratic-leaning independents said they are satisfied with their choice of candidates, potentially leaving some wiggle room for Biden.

Palmieri played down recent polls that have showed that voters find her boss, 67, less than trustworthy. That is what our next guest is hoping for, anyway. Much of the inspiration, the Times reports, comes from Biden’s son Beau, who passed away in May.

“We’ll see what happens”. Is he actually more likely to run today than he was a few weeks ago?

Biden’s staff has been reaching out to Democratic leaders and donors to hold “hushed phone calls and quiet lunches” weighing a potential run, reports the Times.

Biden is all Democrat all the time and it is hard to imagine him upsetting the apple cart in an election cycle that all but anoints Clinton as the Democratic nominee, but 2016 is not about Clinton’s turn in line.
