The Rockets this offseason decided not to bring Terry back for a third season, and instead signed an even older point guard in Pablo Prigioni.
Marc Stein of ESPN reported that the deal between Jason Terry and the Milwaukee Bucks is now getting closer.
Terry won the National Basketball Association sixth man award with Dallas in 2009 and spent the past two seasons with the Houston Rockets. Terry is a former NBA Sixth Man Award victor (2009) who won an NBA championship with the Dallas Mavericks in the 2010-11 season alongside Bucks coach Jason Kidd, then the Mavericks’ starting point guard.
The Bucks had originally signed Novak back in February after he was released by the Denver Nuggets.
If the veteran guard can find the touch he had in NY while in Milwaukee, it’ll be much needed for Kidd and the Bucks: Last season, the club managed a league-low in both three-point attempts as well as field goals.
Terry last played for a team in the East during the 2013-14 season when he was with the Brooklyn Nets.

Last season, Terry saw action in 72 games (seven starts) for the Rockets. Terry averaged 17.5 points per game during their 2011 NBA Playoffs run and is the 2nd for the Mavericks’ scoring option, considering he is coming off the bench. Terry is still a solid shooter, as as two seasons ago he shot 39 percent from three and last season he was 35.6 percent from long range. That year Novak hit a career-best 149 threes while shooting 42.5% beyond the arc.
