Bill Clinton’s birthday present from granddaughter Charlotte

In response to a recent op-ed written by the editorial board of the Boston Globe, Hillary Clinton promised the Clinton Foundation would stop accepting foreign and corporate donations if she becomes President.

“The work that we have accomplished and lives we have changed through the Clinton Giustra Enterprise Partnership is what I consider my most important lifelong work”, said Giustra. More than half of voters (51 percent) have heard a lot or some about the foundation, and while one-third of voters view it favorably, nearly four in 10 (38 percent) have an unfavorable view. While the Clintons are now promising to build that firewall for themselves if they win the White House, this announcement does nothing to prevent foreign entities from splashing the foundation pot during the final months of the general election.

Those perceptions are mostly split along partisan lines.

Before Trump ran for president, he and his daughter Ivanka gave at least $100,000 to the Clinton Foundation because of its work with Haiti in the aftermath of the 2010 quake, among other projects. While criticizing the foundation’s custom of receiving money from foreign governments particularly Saudi Arabia, Republican nominee Donald Trump believes that Clinton’s record on women’s right is undermined by these contributions. “It brings the emails back into question because whatever was in those emails she made the determination that it was better for her politically to take the hit for deleting them than for allowing the public to see what was in them” Philips said.

The Huffington Post is just the latest outlet to acknowledge that the explosive research, found first in Breitbart News Senior Editor-at-Large Peter Schweizer’s New York Times bestselling book Clinton Cash, has inspired a massive movement of journalists and political figures – on the left, right, and center – calling on the Clintons to dismantle their problematic nonprofit. The former president, who turns 70 on Friday, said he will resign from the board, and the foundation will only accept contributions from USA citizens and independent charities. Urena added that Bill Clinton will not give any paid speeches between now and Election Day, either. However while she was secretary of State, the foundation continued to operate and receive millions of dollars from foreign governments, despite an ethics agreement with the Obama administration.

“The foundation is doing an enormous amount of work, and it takes time when you’re in a number of countries around the world to retool, refocus the mission, and adapt”, Mook said, emphasizing the work the foundation does to combat AIDS and malaria around the world.

The new policy was devised by Bill Clinton and daughter Chelsea Clinton, and approved at a foundation board meeting Thursday, according to a foundation official. So, they will keep taking it if she loses – perhaps to facilitate Chelsea Clinton’s political career? There have also been reports that the Clintons have hired a cybersecurity firm, amid fears that the foundation’s computers may have been hacked. “What they announced only addresses the most egregious potential conflicts”.
