Mayawati also said that the BJP’s Kashmir policy was a diversionary tactic and an attempt to deflect attention of the people from its government’s failure to deliver.

Criticising Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat for allegedly asking the Hindus to produce more children, she said, “At a time when inflation is rising, and Hindu children are dying of starvation, he is asking the Hindu community to produce more children”. The Centre cannot take care of two children, who will provide for more, she wondered. “Instead, he should suggest the Narendra Modi government about ensuring two square meals for every child”, she said in response to Bhagwat’s remarks, reportedly made here on Saturday. “In BJP-ruled States, Dalits are being persecuted, whether it is Rohith Vemula or Gujarat (Una) or what Daya Shankar said about me”.
“They eat food at dalit homes and present some people as followers of Buddha to send a confusing signal”.
She said ever since the BJP came to power, the Muslim community is getting harassed by “gau rakshaks”, “love jihad” and Hindu nationalists.
She said that the BJP wants to end reservation but that the BSP will never let this happen. “Mr Modi had promised to bring back black money stashed overseas within 100 days, he has assured cheap food grains for the poor but none of this has happened”, she said.
Twenty one days after BJP President Amit Shah had to cancel his Agra rally when his party failed to gather 40,000 Dalits, BSP supremo Mayawati on 21 August, Sunday, showed who is the boss in UP.
Rejecting allegations that tickets in the BSP are sold for money, she said, “I want to ask our opponents, you say the BSP is a spent force”. If we are finished, then why would people be so interested in buying our tickets?
Ms. Mayawati focussed her attacks on the BJP and Mr. Modi with little mention of the ruling Samajwadi Party, though she did highlight the law and order situation.
Accusing Congress of “fooling the poor in name of reservation”, Mayawati reminded the people that its chief ministerial candidate Sheila Dikshit had “blamed those from UP and Bihar for law and order issues in Delhi” when chief minister there.

“Interacting with reporter, the former Leader of Opposition in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly claimed that Mayawati’s BSP will be pushed to the “third place” in the state following his exit, coupled with “behenji’s style of functioning”.
