It’s finally happening. After months of waiting and speculation, David Wright will play his first game since being diagnosed with spinal stenosis.
In the bottom of the first, Jupiter’s Yefri Perez drew a leadoff walk from Mickey Jannis.
A lot will depend on how healthy Wright is when eligible to play, but even so, all signs are pointing to a quick return for the Mets captain. Approximately 30 minutes after the completion of the suspended game, the Mets and Hammerheads will begin a seven-inning game.

He said Monday he spent 90 minutes stretching and warming up before the game – a routine he likely will have to repeat before every game for the rest of his career.
