Ipswich deserved all the points from East Anglia derby, says Mick McCarthy

A 23-year-old Norwich man was arrested on suspicion of possession of class A drugs, while a 23-year-old man from Colchester and a 57-year-old man from Witham were arrested for breaching a notice to leave following antisocial behaviour.

“I am disappointed we didn’t win”.

“Do me a favour. I’m alright one week but I’m not the next”. This has led to some fans criticising McCarthy’s tactics, which tend to be a bit more old-school than some of the more fluent passing play some other teams in the Sky Bet Championship now utilise.

“We started really well and I am delighted with how we have responded, against Norwich today and Wolves in midweek, after I was annoyed and angry at Brentford last Saturday”. We’re all about Mick, especially when he gives quotes like this about his own Ipswich Town supporters and the fairweather nature of being a football fan in general. ‘I said, “Well make your f***ing mind up, it either is or it isn’t”.

“I live in a black and white world”.

“They told me it was onside so, if that be the case, then I’ll be battering PGMOL’s (Professional Game Match Officials” Board) door down Monday morning with a tirade of “hey, any chance of us getting a decision?’ I’ll be doing that tonight on the answer machine actually”.

Norwich have made a smooth transition back into the second tier following their relegation from the Premier League last term and therefore they are good value at 6/5 (2.20) to extend their impressive record in the East Anglian derby by taking all three points at Portman Road. I think the big fella has said, as he was coming off, that he got away with one to some of the lads. “I don’t know. That’s my thoughts now, but I’d need to see it again”. It’s nice for him to get a bit of love for scoring.
