As for her plans after Rio, Biles isn’t ruling out trying to return to the Olympic team for Tokyo’s 2020 Summer Games. Simone Biles, in all of her petite, air-defying, athleticism, was the ultimate, breakout star of the 2016 Olympics.
Was there really ANY other choice for American flag-bearer at the Rio Olympics Closing Ceremony?!
“They’re trying to get a Biles smile”, said one NBC commentator as an global group of fans grouped around the athlete.
“I’m afraid the flag is going to be too heavy for me”, Simone said about being anxious for the closing ceremony.
Biles, with Aly Raisman, helped lead the women’s all-around team to gold, won the women’s all-around individual finals and dominated the apparatus finals on floor and vault. She also won bronze for the individual beam.
Many fellow Olympians wanted to take a picture with Biles after her outstanding gymnastics performance during the 2016 Olympics.
