Trump ‘crossed the line’ with gun rights remarks: Clinton

Hillary and Bill Clinton released their 2015 tax returns on Friday, showing they paid $3.6 million in taxes on adjusted gross income of $10.6 million.

In 2014, when neither Clinton was running for president, the couple earned a cool $28.3 million in combined income.

There is no mandate for Trump to release his taxes but every recent Presidential candidate has made them available some time during the general election. They paid an effective federal tax rate of 20.3 per cent in 2015. She and her husband also pocketed more than $10 million past year, firmly positioning themselves in the elite 1 percent of top earners when inequality is a big focus of the election.

Hillary Clinton just made her latest federal income tax return public, putting the pressure on Donald Trump to do the same.

“For the last 30 or 40 years, every candidate for president has released their tax returns, and I think Donald Trump should, as well”, McConnell says.

Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton picked apart Donald Trump’s economic plan in a major speech today and detailed her own plans for USA trade and tax reform.

“The Secret Service’s communications director Cathy Milhoan has not confirmed the conversations, but said in a statement that “the US Secret Service is aware of Mr Trump’s comments”.

The Clintons also donated a million dollars to the non-profit foundation that bears their name.

Trump responded to the public outrage over his controversial comments and said in an interview with Fox News that he was only trying to unify gun owners against Clinton in voting for her.

Finally, a tax return could show what kind of financial ties Trump has to foreign countries – including Russian Federation, which has seemingly sought to meddle in the 2016 election through a possible email hack of numerous Democratic campaign entities.

The IRS has said Trump can release his tax returns even while under audit.

First of all, Giuliani and all of Trump’s other spinmasters are being dishonest when they repeatedly claim that the Republican nominee was referring to using votes to defeat Clinton in November.

The release of tax information is generally expected of presidential candidates.

Over the course of their careers the Clintons have published all of their tax returns since 1977. As many economists pointed out, this policy would actually end up benefitting wealthier Americans since many Americans already pay no federal income tax.

At an appearance in Miami Beach, Florida, hours before Clinton’s speech, Trump said his rival “wants to tax and regulate our economy to death”.
