Paul Manafort resigned as chairman of Donald Trump’s USA presidential campaign on Friday, Trump said, days after the Republican candidate effectively demoted him in a leadership shakeup aimed at boosting his struggling White House bid.

It seems that Mr. Manafort’s resignation will eventually lead to more of Trump’s staff leaving, as Bannon and Conway are already considering hiring additional people.

In a statement, Trump says Manafort offered his resignation Friday morning. “I wish him the greatest success”.

Lewandowski had advocated a “Let Trump be Trump” strategy, while Manafort, a veteran of Republican politics, had tried to get the NY tycoon to tone down his harsh rhetoric. Details of the payments described in the ledger were first reported by The New York Times.

Earlier in the week, the campaign added two new top officials to the campaign in a move widely seen as a demotion for Manafort.

As recently as a few months ago, Donald Trump’s presidential campaign appeared to be at odds with itself, with a civil war of sorts between campaign manager Corey Lewandowski and campaign chairman Paul Manafort.

Whether the Trump campaign can get its wheels permanently back on track remains unclear, however.

The departure also comes as Manafort is defending himself from investigations into his extensive lobbying history overseas, particularly in the Ukraine, where he represented pro-Russian interests.

“As you know, I am not a politician”. Clinton also raised more funds, taking in $52m for her campaign and Democrats, according to July filings with the Federal Election Commission, while Trump raised $37m for his campaign and Republicans.

“We are one country, one people, and we will have together one great future”, Trump told the crowd. “In the second shakeup to his campaign team in two months, Trump has given the upper hand to loyalists who favor his populist style”. “You can get rid of Manafort, but that doesn’t end the odd bromance Trump has with Putin”.

Trump noted the GOP’s ties to Abraham Lincoln, the first Republican president and the chief executive who issued the proclamation freeing slaves, and said, “I want our party to be a home of the African-American voter once again”. She has worked in communications for the presidential campaigns of Mike Huckabee, Rick Santorum and Michele Bachmann, as well as communications for Concerned Women for America.

Trump has been having a tumultuous run on the campaign trail in recent weeks, but on Thursday, August 18, Trump made an unusual statement while speaking to a crowd in Charlotte, North Carolina, expressing “regret” for some of the off-the-cuff, offensive things that he has said since the GOP National Convention.
