Usain Bolt impresses with javelin throw

“Greatest swimmer alive” just doesn’t have the same ring to it, but if we strip away all the superlatives and focus on the body of work, it’s hard to argue Michael Phelps hasn’t accomplished everything under the sun as an Olympian. “I’ve achieved all I wanted to in track and field”. But what the Jamaican has done over eight years goes beyond the realm of sport.

The greatest runner in the world won Gold medals in the 100m and 200m sprints before joining forces with Team Jamaica to win the 4x100m relay.

Bolt bolted from the Olympics a day earlier by leaving Rio last night, missing the closing ceremony. Both have competed in their last Olympics. She may have another crack at it in four years, as well.

Allyson Felix is 30. But on Saturday, the seven-time major victor took command with a 5-under 66 and won a gold medal.

American Tyson Gay was the last man to beat Bolt in a major championship final – in the 200 metres at the 2007 worlds in Osaka – and, like numerous other sprinters in the final, he had nothing but praise for the Jamaican. “I want to stay in the sport”, the 30-year-old said.

“It’s a relief but I’m also sad that I have to leave”. “I’m gonna rest well, start my process of training, getting stronger, hopefully getting faster”.

Miss Duarte told the site: “I just sent it (the picture) to the group of my girlfriends girls (sic), now you see”. But 35, I plan on running even faster. But it appears he wasn’t done showing us his athletic ability.

Olympics: From the 2nd quarter on the gold medal match between the US and Serbia was more a procession than heated final, while freakish scenes unfold in the wrestling with two coaches stripping in protest.

Two talented young boxers who could wind up being the future stars of the sport faced off in the bantamweight gold medal bout.

This all took place against the backdrop of restrained expectations. “There you go. I’m the greatest”, said the Jamaican, who kissed the finish line as he played to the crowd and the cameras. “I feel like I was at home with so many Colombian fans in the grandstands”. He knows he is an entertainer and puts on a show every time he competes.

A total of 86 of the 129 USA track and field athletes were competing at their first Olympics, including 17 of the 29 individual medal winners.

Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt is one of the most talked about athletes at the moment because he recently managed to win his 9th Olympic gold medal. It launched his career and led him to signing a big contract with Puma – the same company that sponsors Bolt. D’Agostino collapsed not long after and Hamblin returned the favor, helping the American up. He also owns the records in the 100 (9.58) and 200 (19.19). The feat may have garnered more attention if he weren’t sharing the stage with Bolt. He came here to defend his three Olympic titles in the 100, 200 and 4×100 relay.

Canada were elevated to bronze after their run of 37.64, a national record which gave Andre de Grasse his third medal of the Games after a bronze in the 100m and silver in the 200m. For the sport’s sake, this storyline needs to shift well before Tokyo. To win multiple gold medals and utterly dominate three Olympic Games is superhuman.

So I’m going to miss all of that.
