Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has described the performance of record signing Paul Pogba as phenomenal.

As a result, Borthwick-Jackson has been touted with a loan move away from Old Trafford this summer and Wolves are now said to have made moves to land the services of the 19-year-old.

Borthwick-Jackson broke into United’s first-team last season under Louis van Gaal, with the left-back making 10 Premier League appearances, including six starts.

John, a 24-year-old winger, will be familiar to Football League fans as he spent last season on loan with Wolves’ Sky Bet Championship rivals Reading.

Borthwick-Jackson made his debut as an 18-year-old against West Brom in November and particularly impressed in United’s wins over Liverpool and Stoke earlier this year.

The youngster signed a new contract at Old Trafford over the summer, tying him to United until 2020 and showing the club’s commitment to continuing his development.

It’s hoped to move will give the England Under-19 global more minutes in first-team football before returning to United next summer.
