Steelers’ James Harrison: NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell Is a ‘Crook’
Harrison says he refuses to meet with league officials unless they come to his house before training camp (which already started), on a date of his choosing and NFL commissioner Roger Goodell must be present.

In December 2015, an Al-Jazeera report linked several players to PED use through primary source Charlie Sly – Sly is the same name linked to Peyton Manning’s HGH report.
The Steelers never approached him about doing so, he said, and to wait out the process would have worked against him.
The NFL was referring to Neal having to re-submit his statement because it failed to mention he had been suspended for a violation of the performance-enhancing drug policy. A revised statement was provided to correct that section.
While Manning got most of the attention in the report, a few of the most prominent defensive players in the National Football League were also named. Harrison was asked after Friday’s Eagles- Steelers preseason game why he chose to go ahead with the interview. Do you think the players should just answer the questions?
Nevertheless, since the initiation of our investigation in January the league has made at least seven attempts to arrange interviews of Messrs.
Green Bay’s top pass-rushers are choosing not to fight a legal battle over the commissioner’s powers now, but one former Packer may do so soon. On each occasion, the NFLPA has communicated the players’ refusal to participate.
“We can not accept your unilateral assertion that the cursory, untested statements you have submitted satisfy the players’ obligation”. “Because we had the opportunity in the CBA to make some legitimate changes to that”. In that letter, you were expressly notified that continued noncooperation could result in discipline up to and including a suspension. Such a suspension would be separate from any possible future determination of violation of the steroid policy.
While Thompson chose his words carefully Tuesday, Rodgers did so as well on Wednesday – except the thoughtful two-time NFL MVP chose a more aggressive tack. Four other players? Not so much, according to USA Today and other publications that Monday obtained a letter sent by the league to the NFLPA.
With the latest actions by the NFL, it seems likely a clash between the league and the union is brewing.

“We can not accept your unilateral assertion that the cursory, untested statements you have submitted satisfy the players’ obligation”, Birch wrote. She closes by saying that Harrison will cooperate and agree to be interviewed as a “professional decision”. But with lack of cooperation from players, the league says it plans to suspend over ‘conduct detrimental.’ Harrison admits the Steelers factor into this, even though coach Mike Tomlin said the investigation has “nothing to do with us”.
