No play was possible for the fourth consecutive day at the Queen´s Park Oval, after only 22 overs were bowled at the start of the match with the West Indies reaching 62 for two before lunch on day one.

Pakistan have gone top of the ICC Test rankings for the first time after the fourth Test between the West Indies and India ended in a draw.

Pakistan chief selector Inzamam-ul-Haq has recently ruled out any retirement options for national team captain Misbah-ul-Haq and believes the veteran batsman still has a big role to play in Pakistan cricket.

“If we can achieve these on a consistent basis, then I am sure there will be more laurels like this down the line”. Pakistan thus became the new no.1 Test ranked side, courtesy their 2-2 draw in England.

India lead the 4 test series 2 nil. “To top the Test table, which boasts some of the best sides and players, is something to be very proud of”, he added.

Ever since playing their Tests away from the country, Pakistan have played their Tests mostly in the UAE. “Number-one ranking is a reward for something we had planned as a group a few years ago and have worked extremely hard to achieve it”.

Misbah and his side deserve our heartiest congratulations.

To mark Pakistans number-one Test status, it will be presented with the ICC Test Championship mace. “The number-one ranking is well deserved and a testament to the quality of cricket the team has consistently played over the past few years”, the former South Africa stumper said in a statement.

Their rise to No. 1 was built on the back of a run of unbeaten Test series since August 2014, when they were down at No. 6.

And in 2009, also against England, the scheduled second Test of the series survived less than two overs when the officials determined that the heavily-sanded outfield, which included the bowlers run-ups, made proper movement without the risk of injury for the fielding team nearly impossible.
