Bolt insists his Olympic legacy is safe
Carter ran the leadoff leg for Jamaica’s 4x100m team when Bolt anchored them to a gold medal at Beijing’s Bird’s Nest stadium, where Bolt took the sport by storm with his first treble.

Bolt completed a triple triple at the Games – winning the 100 meters, the 200 meters and the 4×100-metre relay as he did at Beijing 2008 and London 2012.
The 26-year-old beauty, who has been flooding her Twitter feeds with messages about her “baby” throughout the Games, has reportedly been dating Bolt for two years. “It’s come true”, said Bolt, who overcame a hamstring injury earlier in the summer, then shined throughout a seven-day, seven-race stint in Rio, counting all the heats.
“I don’t think it would tarnish my legacy”, he said.
“I love competing. So I’m going to miss all of that. I look at it as an accomplishment”. Although the official reason Bolt provided for his intended absence from the Athletes’ Parade was that he was simply feeling lazy, The Telegraph reported that he may have been tired about many of his fellow athletes’ tendency to mob him.
Friday’s triumph was potentially the most awkward, with Bolt’s gold medal hopes reliant on the performances of his team-mates.
Caldwell is one of many within the Lions organization who has a fondness for track and field. While Bolt appeared to be cruising to an easy victory down the home stretch, De Grasse turned up the heat and almost clipped him at the end. They like to be a part of the competition.
The smallest distance recorded in the women’s javelin final was 57.7m, marginally longer than Bolt’s cameo attempt.
“You know I’m never nervous”, she tweeted during the Games. “I’m happy for him”. It’s a learning experience for me.
Jacques Rogge, the president of the International Olympic Committee at the time, had the temerity to criticize Bolt’s joy, saying “that’s not the way we perceive a champion”. The early candidate is 21-year-old Andre de Grasse of Canada.
The soccer championship is the headline event on a day that features a full slate of track and field, the USA women basketball team getting for another gold, the future of boxing on display in a medal bout and a Hall of Fame golfer pulling off an impressive comeback.
He has signed a lifetime contract with Nike believed to be worth an estimated $30m a year. “I’m working on a social science degree, sociology degree. I told the guys: ‘don’t give me too much work to do!'” I’ve brought more tourists to my country, more jobs. “I’ve noticed that in Britain, every famous person, as soon as they get famous, they have to get married – like, it’s a rule”. “But it hasn’t really sunk into my head yet because I’m still here”. He delivers great theatre even when he doesn’t mean to.

But it’s when you turn to the decathlon and heptathlon events when you realise that Bolt could actually give a multiple-discipline event a go. “Nothing’s going to change with me”.
