Samsung will reportedly sell refurbished phones

This isn’t the first time that Samsung has erased its branding from some versions of its Galaxy flagships. Deloitte noted it’s a 50% increase from the 80 million smartphones that were traded in a year ago.

For the record, Samsung Galaxy S6 was launched in April 2015 and Galaxy S7 arrived in March 2016.

Samsung is a corporate machine, and like most corporate machines, the company is driven by profits. Samsung Canada has left a statement regarding the unpredicted amount of pre-orders but is working on getting all the orders delivered.

Reuters adds that Samsung will only refurbish and sell premium phones which are returned by existing users after the completion of their one-year upgrade programmes.

There is real competition in the technological industry which has prompted many tech firms to look for ways and means of sustaining their businesses.

The discounted handsets are said to be coming to customers tied to upgrade programs in markets like the USA and South Korea, however there’s no official word on how much the discount will be, or which countries the program is coming to. This would be popular among those who are looking to buy high-end Smartphones with high specifications without breaking the bank. But there could be a downside to this idea of pure-genius; sales of other Samsung mid-tier phones could be cannibalized by the refurbished high-end phones.

Samsung will then resell these phones – including the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy Note 7 – at a lower price, the person said, declining to be identified as the plan is not yet public.
