Dareus is with the team but did not play in Saturday’s preseason game against the New York Giants.

It came as something of a surprise to find out the Buffalo Bills released running back Karlos Williams, who is now on the waiver wire, with teams like the Cleveland Browns, Philadelphia Eagles, New England Patriots and Indianapolis Colts looking to sign him.

Dareus’ decision to enter rehab comes four days after the National Football League suspended the Bills’ top-paid player for the first four games of the season. Rookie running back Jonathan Williams scored on a 1-yard plunge and Manuel completed a 19-yard touchdown pass to Greg Little. Beckham had one catch for 33 yards, and was targeted three times. Joe Flacco, Baltimore’s starting quarterback, did not play. In the last seven quarters, the Giants have been outscored 48-0. When LeSean Mccoy went down last season, Williams stepped up. NY converted their first third down opportunity of the game, and were unsuccessful on the next 10 that followed.

Buffalo’s defensive dominance carried over from the starting unit to the second team. On seven of New York’s first 11 possessions, which stretched well into the third quarter, the Giants had either zero or negative net yardage.

Although Karlos Williams’ chances of being on the team at the start of the regular season are far from certain, with no running back on Miami’s roster, other than Isaiah Pead, having made any real impact since the start of training camp, it would seem to behoove the team to at least consider bringing him in for a tryout.

LOS ANGELES – Todd Gurley rushed for a touchdown in his preseason debut, and the Los Angeles Rams defeated the Kansas City Chiefs 21-20 on Saturday night.

DENVER – Christian Ponder ran for a score and threw for another in the fourth quarter and San Francisco pulled away to beat the Denver Broncos 31-24 in an exhibition Saturday night.

Blaine Gabbert, trying to solidify his hold on the starting quarterback job in Colin Kaepernick’s absence, led a scoring drive and finished 6 of 9 for 69 yards in roughly a quarter and a half of play. He hit the right crossbar on both misses.

Williams has some off-the-field problems, including a domestic abuse investigation that amounted to nothing from his days in Florida, and the four game suspension.
