Rio Closing Ceremony Passes Olympic Baton To Tokyo

All officially announced the closing ceremony of 31st Olympiad few hours back, the closing ceremony is so colorful which took nearly three and half hours.

To the powerful music of Japanese pop star Sheena Ringo, Japanese Premier Shinzo Abe appeared in a video in which he transformed into the video game character Super Mario while driving through Tokyo.

The flag passing ceremony symbolizes the end of Rio Games and transition to 2020.

As the ceremony proceeded, the many Olympic teams paraded throughout the Maracana to the joy of the crowd, with the flag bearers leading the way.

A blustery storm, a touch of melancholy and a sense of pride converged at the closing ceremony of the 2016 Olympics on Sunday as Brazil breathed a collective sigh of relief at having pulled off South America’s first Games.

With music mercifully drowning out much of the chatter of NBC on-air talent in the early goings-on of the ceremony, Olympic athletes who had competed for more than two weeks in Rio poured, slo-mo, into the venue.

“Over the past sixteen days a united Brazil hosted the world in these hard times for us all, through its irresistible joy”, he said.

“These were a marvelous Olympics, in a marvelous city”, said International Olympic Committee chief Thomas Bach. Afterward, it gave life to a large tree sculpture that reportedly is a symbol for rebirth.

Britain’s athletes were among those celebrating inside the stadium, as Team GB looked back on what has been its most successful away Games of all time. Simone Biles carried the country’s flag for the 2016 Rio Olympics closing ceremony.
