‘Congratulations to Team GB on your record-breaking success at Rio 2016, ‘ it read.
“London 2012 was a hard act to follow, but you have made the entire country proud of everything you have accomplished”.
William, Kate and Harry added: “We all know that this success does not come easy and is the culmination of years of hard work, passionate commitment, sheer grit and determination”. We hope that you have all enjoyed the experience as much as we have back home.
The 30 year old, who won three gold medals in Rio, is pictured running behind Prince Harry, as the royal laughs ahead of him.
William, Kate and Harry revealed they were among those who were glued to the television, watching Team GB’s fortunes.
The Duke and Duchess are also due to visit Kelowna in British Columbia, before moving to Whitehorse and Carcross in Yukon, north west Canada. British media (Daily Mail and the Sunday Times) and American media (US Weekly and Vanity Fair) confirmed through unnamed royal sources and officials in Canada that the heir and the spare (George is 3, Charlotte is 1) will be on the trip, although it’s not clear whether they will be making public appearances.
