Olympics: USOC: More actions coming in Ryan Lochte’s Olympic scandal

Ralph Lauren announced Monday it would not renew its sponsorship contract with Ryan Lochte, becoming the second company to drop the U.S. Olympic swimmer in the wake of his scandal in Rio de Janeiro. We thank them for being pioneers and for continuing to do their work so well. “They let down Americans”, said Blackmun in the statement from the USOC. Lauer told Lochte that the first version of his story regarding the robbery was about the mean streets of Rio de Janeiro and the version he hast told now is about the negotiated settlement that they had in order to cover up “dumb behavior”, E!

USA swimmer Ryan Lochte won one medal at the Rio Olympics, a gold in the men’s 800-meter freestyle relay. Surveillance videos showed that the four swimmers had actually trashed a local gas station while intoxicated and refused to pay for any of the damage.

In an interview with NBC’s Matt Lauer, the 12-time medalist said he is “taking full responsibility” for the incident. If you’re like me, then you may have had trouble following the scandal surrounding United States swimmer Ryan Lochte. “Yes, so then we had to give them money”, Ryan said.

Lochte subsequently conceded that he had “over-exaggerated” his story and apologised for his “immature behaviour”, and Blackmun says further action will be taken upon his return to the US. I’m not making that an excuse.

Brennan and Jenkins have worked hard to get to a point where they can be the voices of reason covering a story that is chaotic, to say the least. “I over-exaggerated what was happening to me”.

“I was a a little frightened, having a gun pointed to you”. I don’t want them to think that I left, and left them dry. He did the same thing during an interview that aired on Globo TV in Brazil on Saturday (20Aug16). But, he argued to Lauer while presumably hoping sponsors were listening, “I know what I did was wrong, and I learned my lesson, and all I can do now is…make sure this kind of stuff never happens again”.

“The armed (guard) signaled with his fingers that he wanted money”, Melaragno said. Meanwhile, others focused on the “bro culture” and privilege that allowed him to escape his actions unscathed, even linking the swimmers’s response to another athlete who recently blamed alcohol for his actions: Brock Turner. Unused official games tickets were also taken from the Irish office in the Olympic Village, which the OCI said were for athletes’ families and friends.
