Clinton commits to visiting Louisiana flood sites
In speaking with CNN’s Dana Bash on his comments on the Trump, Pence trip, Edwards clarified that he did not dismiss the trip as a photo-op but urged Trump not to use the trip as such. Edwards had also encouraged Obama, and Clinton by association, to hold off visiting the state, citing concerns over diverting emergency resources for road closures and security.

At the end of the day, Trump’s visit did help and people who are actually in Louisiana, democrats and republicans are now praising him.
Trump made his high-profile visit to Baton Rouge, La., last Friday with his running mate, Indiana Gov. “We want him to be helpful and we hope it doesn’t turn into a mere photo op”, Edwards said.
“Instead we hope he’ll consider volunteering or making a sizable donation to the LA Flood Relief Fund to help the victims of this storm”, read the statement from Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards, directed towards Trump.
“Donald Trump hasn’t called the governor to inform him of his visit”. I refused to do that during Hurricane Sandy and I put the people of New Jersey first. “The very best way this team can help is to make sure Louisianans have the resources they need”.
“I would just as soon he wait a week or two”, Edwards told reporters. (Governor Edwards has defended the president, saying that the White House offered to visit but the state told them to hold off until the immediate response phase was finished.) The president is scheduled to visit Louisiana on Tuesday.
