Giants sign former Texans, Jets kicker Randy Bullock

The Giants made the move Monday, electing to sign a veteran with Josh Brown suspended for the regular-season opener against Dallas on September 11.

The Giants’ defensive end said he hasn’t spoken directly with Brown about the allegations of abuse committed against his ex-wife, Molly. The charges against Brown were dropped, though his now ex-wife has accused him of being physically violent over 20 times. The move comes less than a week after kicker Josh Brown was suspended one game for violating the league’s conduct policy. Those claims are included in a case file obtained by Newsday from the King County sheriff’s office. Pierre-Paul said when asked Monday about the possibility of the Giants releasing Brown.

In order to make room for Bullock, it was ultimately Obarski who got the boot (no pun intended). Bullock was originally a fifth-round draft pick by the Houston Texans back in 2012, and the best season of his career came back in 2014 with the team. He has made 75 of 93 field-goal attempts and 88 of 91 extra-point tries. Obarski was waived by the Giants on Monday when Bullock was signed. Brown, 37, is coming off a Pro Bowl season and signed a two-year contract to return to the Giants this offseason.

One interesting wrinkle: Bullock is eligible for vested veteran status this year, according to a source.
