Samsung Galaxy Note 5 Not Waterproof
Barely five months after launching the Galaxy S6 series of smartphones, Samsung took a step further yesterday evening to launch the new Galaxy S6 Edge+, a 5.7 inch big brother of the Edge. The company has not yet disclosed prices for the new devices, but sources said the Note5 will be launched in India in September this year, while the S6 Edge+ will hit stores in the third week of August. The reason why the S6 Edge+ weighs less is that it does not feature the metallic S-Pen stylus that is available on the Note 5. And no! There is no option for microSD card to increase the memory size. The Note 5 will not initially go on sale in the UK upon launch.

Samsung also presented the Galaxy Note 5, the latest in its phablet range. The 5.7-inch (14.5-cm) screens and addition of payments are meant to help Samsung stand out from the array of cheap devices by Chinese vendors using the same Android software. On the Galaxy S6 Edge+, the dual edges are used as a shortcut from any screen to the user’s top contacts and apps.
Samsung has unveiled two high-end smartphones, both featuring a massive screen, as well as a mobile payments system – all tactics to compete better with longtime rival Apple and its iPhone 6 success.
The hardware of the Galaxy S6 edge+ and the Galaxy Note 5 handsets is essentially the same.

The Galaxy Note 5 follows on from the excellent Note 4 foundations, with a sleek metallic build that’s gorgeous to look at and firm in the hand (ahem), and not too hefty at 171g. It also has a 16 megapixel rear camera and 5 megapixel front-facing camera. The first is the Galaxy S6 Edge +, which is a larger size version of a phone that they already carry. The screen real estate adjusts when the phone senses the keyboard is on and, when not in use, the keyboard attachment can me slotted onto the back of the phone. The device will be available in the U.S. and “key Asian markets” this month and then will roll out to other regions.
