The Ducks acquired Hagelin from the New York Rangers along with picks in the second and sixth rounds of the 2015 National Hockey League Draft on June 27 for left wing Emerson Etem and a second-round pick.
The 6-foot, 186-pound Hagelin appeared in all 82 games last season with the Rangers, recording 35 points (17 goals, 18 assists) and a plus-18 rating.
“I’m really excited to be a part of the Ducks’ organization for the next four years”, Hagelin said from Sweden during a conference call with reporters.

Hagelin was coming off a two-year contract and made $2.4 million this season but the signs were present that the Rangers weren’t going pay the winger in the $3-million range and, certainly, the $4 million that he ultimately got.

The Ducks lost goal-scoring forward Matt Beleskey and defenseman Francois Beauchemin to free agency.
