U.S. election: Trump overhauls campaign team again
The Republican nominee named Stephen Bannon of the conservative Breitbart News website as chief executive officer and promoted pollster Kellyanne Conway to campaign manager.

The Trump campaign has also said that the first major television ad buy of the general election will start later this week, as well as a recently-appointed commission on agriculture – which includes former presidential candidate Rick Perry.
Earlier in the week, the campaign added two new top officials to the campaign in a move widely seen as a demotion for Mr Manafort.
“I look at it as an expansion of the team”.
For many political observers, Bannon and Ailes’ influence over the Republican presidential nominee epitomizes right-wing media’s influence over the Grand Old Party. It also said Kellyanne Conway, who has been an adviser, will take on the role of campaign manager. He says, “They’re terrific people, they’re winners, they’rechamps, and we need to win it”. “I believe we’re adding some of the best talents in politics, with the experience and expertise needed to defeat Hillary Clinton in November and continue to share my message and vision to Make America Great Again”. Nonetheless, many people view the changes in the campaign’s leadership as a direct insult toward Manafort.
Manafort has been effectively managing the campaign since June, when Trump’s previous campaign manager Corey Lewandowski was dismissed amid a pivot toward the general election. Trump is trying to stabilize his flailing campaign. At a Baptist church later, a woman screamed “Thank you for coming, Mr. Trump” as he and Pence sat down with volunteers.
Trump, who is lagging behind in the polls, accused Clinton of being on the side of the rioters – and argued that Democratic policies have made life for African-Americans and in inner cities worse.
The authors go on to enumerate Trump’s attacks on members of his own party, like Arizona Senator John McCain (Trump derided his military service), New Mexico Governor Susana Martinez (he told a crowd in her home state that Martinez was “not doing the job”) and Illinois Senator Mark Kirk (Trump called him a “loser”). But some cautioned that such chatter was predictable and inevitable when any campaign faces tough times.
While polls have shown Clinton building a lead following the Philadelphia convention, Democrats are fearful that a depressed voter turnout might diminish support among the minority, young and female voters who powered Obama to two victories.
But Trump has repeatedly said he is resistant to change and reiterated that Tuesday in an interview with a local news station in Wisconsin. “That’s why I’m bringing on fantastic people who know how to win and love to win”. Everyone talks about, ‘Oh, well you’re going to pivot, you’re going to.’ I don’t want to pivot. You have to be you.
Trump said in a speech Monday that the country’s national security requirements demanded “extreme” vetting of immigrants seeking admission to the United States, pointing to the threat of the Islamic State group and terrorist elements.
It was a rare admission for Trump, who has said he prefers “not to regret anything”.
“By turning to Roger Ailes and Steve Bannon, he has surrounded himself with upstarts who are are expert at feeding his proclivity for being provocative, but not necessarily in get-out-the-vote campaigns in Pennsylvania”, said Kristof.
Reports of the tensions also came as it emerged Tuesday that Roger Ailes, the recently ousted head of Fox News, will begin to advise Trump as he prepares for the presidential debates.

The source noted that Lewandowski had issued a similar campaign memo when Manafort was hired in a volunteer capacity with the campaign.
