Jaitley appeals to youth in Kashmir to shun violence
Speaking at an official function in Bhagwati Nagar area of the city, Mehbooba, who visited Jammu for the first time since violence began in the valley last month, said these people “who do not want peace in Kashmir are inviting youths to violence for their vested interests”.

She said these elements also tried to raise the issues of separate colonies for retired soldiers and Kashmiri Pandits but “failed”.
The chief minister claimed that there were only 5% people, who were disturbing peace and instigating violence in the Valley.
Jaitley slammed Pakistan yesterday for the current unrest, saying it was “attacking the integrity of India” in a “new way” after failing to snatch Jammu and Kashmir by waging wars and fuelling trouble ever since partition in 1947 and vowed to defeat this design too. “These issues find resolution in such meetings which are happening, like between the Prime Minister and the Opposition, where all stakeholders get to be heard”, Chief Justice Thakur said.
“We must appreciate that certain dimensions of the issue can not be readdressed in court”.
The 3-stage plan includes encouraging civil society groups to interact with youth in Kashmir, sending an all-party delegation to the state and examining the role of the clergy in spreading the message of peace. “Neither the stones nor the guns either in hands of the militants or the in the hands of security forces would enable a peaceful solution of the Kashmir problem”, she asserted.
Babu Singh was Minister of State in the Mufti led PDP Congress coalition government and Azad led Congress-PDP coalition government. “I don’t understand what happened. people were waiting for a chance”.
“Our children are today getting killed or maimed, our social fabric is slipping into disorder, economy is in shambles, educational sector has suffered immensely, tourism inflow is zero, shopkeepers are not able to do business, industrial units are shut, development process has come to a halt and people are feeling suffocated”. He said “the situation in Kashmir if allowed to continue will explode and the waves of death and destruction will engulf the entire South Asia”. “After the Assembly (session) was over, we had made a decision to work more”.

The Jammu and Kashmir high court is also hearing a similar plea on alleged excessive use of force against citizens by security personnel. “The situation in the state keeps changing by the hour for which there is no judicial remedy”, the court said.
