Ronaldo absent as Gareth Bale nets brace in Madrid season’s opener
Gareth Bale scored twice to help Real Madrid start the Spanish league with a 3-0 victory at Real Sociedad, while Atletico Madrid was held 1-1 after conceding a last-gasp goal to Alaves on Sunday.

“I’m delighted for him because he’s behind the rest of the players in terms of fitness but you couldn’t tell”, Zidane told a news conference. Asensio had a great game, but so did (Mateo) Kovacic and others.
“(Bale) began in the best way possible, by quickly scoring a goal”, Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane said.
Zidane however says that adding Fabregas to the Real Madrid squad would only make life complicated for him due to the embarrassment of riches he already has in the middle of the park.
It was an end-to-end affair, with Morata denied again by Rulli, while youngster Asensio, picked ahead of James Rodriguez and Isco, continued to bewilder defenders with his quick feet on his first start in La Liga for the European champions.
“I’m happy and even more so because my goals are helping the team”.
When created, the fans’ designs are pitted against each other in a head-to-head style vote and if Real Madrid aren’t really your thing, you can also design a kit for Manchester United, Juventus, AC Milan, Bayern Munich or Flamengo.
Bale book-ended the night with virtually the last kick of the game as he took the ball around Geronimo Rulli to score a third.
The second half saw the home side come out looking to pressure Real Madrid higher up the field and it was an improved display from Real Sociedad, although they failed to work Kiko Casilla in the Madrid goal.
Home coach Eusebio Sacristan blamed himself for the heavy home defeat.
“He is working hard, and he has talent and quality”.
Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea are all reportedly interested in signing the talented Real Madrid attacker (Marca), but it would seem the Gunners have the most urgent need for the 25-year-old.

The game looked to be heading for a goalless draw until the home side was awarded a penalty in injury time for a handball, allowing Kevin Gameiro to mark his Atletico debut by converting from the spot in the 93rd minute.
