Overwatch Eichenwalde map now on the PTR and new Reinhardt skins
Ahead of its scheduled September release, Overwatch players on PC can now try out the game’s new map.

The new map has now gone live on the PTR according to Blizzard in a post this afternoon.
“Eichenwalde is now available for testing on the PTR”, reads a Blizzard statement. Last week, it released a big PTR update that made balance changes, introduced Season 2 of Competitive Play, and started replacing a certain phrase in chat.
PTR players now have access to two new, pretty cool skins for everyone’s favourite tank, Reinhardt. What are your thoughts on Eichenwalde if you haven’t tried it already? It is undoubtedly a reference to the Dark Souls series’ iconic checkpoints. Apparently, if gamers opt to take a look within the opposite room of the castle entrance, they would stumble upon a bonfire that looks similar to the bonfires served within Dark Souls.
Eichenwalde is set near a castle in Germany and is built for Hybrid/Assault match variants.
Launching alongside the new system is a tier ranking, which consists of seven tiers, from bronze to grand master.

Bandai Namco’s Dark Souls franchise has players using bonfires as a save point within the video game and this Easter Egg is a neat little nod to fans of the franchise.
