Antonio Conte urges his Chelsea second string to continue winning run

In the first match of the season, Chelsea won against West Ham, thanks to a late stunning goal from Diego Costa. They replicated their show in the next match too, when they faced Watford.

Bristol Rovers were promoted to League One last May, but their performance has been dismal since then.

After the disastrous start of last season that cost Jose Mourinho his job by December, Blues fans will have been quietly encouraged by their new manager’s first two games. “We have lots of players who are capable of winning us games so as long as we stick together as a team we should do well”.

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte, on the other hand, sounded positive and confident of another win, “Losing always leaves sad things in you”. “You can lose your confidence and, for this reason, it was important to win these two games because you can continue to trust in the work and raise the confidence of the players”.

Willian remains ruled out so Pedro will most likely continue out wide while Victor Moses could be handed a chance on the opposite flank ahead of Eden Hazard.

In defence, regular right-back Branislav Ivanovic is likely to be shifted across to play alongside England worldwide Gary Cahill in the absence of 35-year-old Terry, while young London-born right-back Ola Aina could get a rare start.

John Terry looks set to be handed a rest during the encounter on Tuesday and there is a possibility that Branislav Ivanovic is shifted into the centre back position, with young Ola Aina filling in at right back.

Nemanja Matic is likely to be Fabregas’s partner in midfield with Oscar dropping out and N’Golo Kante should keep his place in the defensive midfield role in front of the back four.

Having overcome Championship Cardiff City in the previous round, the Pirates are available at 14/1 (15.00) with Skybet to create an even bigger shock with victory against their Premier League hosts. For Bristol, central back Peter Hartley is in a good touch. A draw is priced at 11/2.
