West Ham defender Reece Burke signs new four-year contract

“At a time when the club is growing its worldwide portfolio, it is all the more important that we remain true to our rich heritage and so it is particularly pleasing to have joined forces with a prominent local business”, said West Ham vice chairman Karren Brady.

West Ham’s first Premier League match in their new stadium ended in a 1-0 win, as Michail Antonio headed home the victor past Artur Boruc in the 85th minute.

He’s now penned a new four-year deal and is delighted with the development although he admits another temporary switch away from the club’s new stadium – this time to a Championship club – beckons.

Antonio told whufc.com: “It feels incredible to be the first Premier League goalscorer at London Stadium and it’s one of those things I can always tell my kids”, and delightfully told the club’s website “I had an interview a year ago and I was asked if I’d rather be the last goalscorer at the Boleyn Ground or the first goalscorer here – I said both, but this is a great feeling!”.

“I had an interview previous year and I was asked if I’d rather be the last goalscorer at the Boleyn Ground or the first goalscorer here – I said both, but this is a great feeling”.

“It’s a big win, I was gutted after Chelsea with the late Costa goal, you don’t want to be on zero points, so it’s an extremely important win for us”. “We need to be disciplined and keep 11 players on the pitch”.

The Twitter user, who goes only by the name of Paul on the social media website, wrote: “Block 214 row 73 no seats!” I think I’m going to try and do Championship – the next step – and see how the season goes hopefully playing Championship football and I’ll hopefully get another load of games under my belt. “I felt we were the stronger side in the second half, so it’s hard to take”. I felt we were pushing to get the victor.

“Even to have kept a clean sheet would have been brilliant”.
