In the US, Xiaomi will be competing head on against Samsung and Apple on their home ground.

Xiaomi can no longer afford to ignore the world’s largest smartphone arena by revenue, company vice president Hugo Barra said in an interview. But the firm’s smartphone worldwide VP Hugo Barra told Bloomberg that the figure was inaccurate.

News of the U.S. expansion comes from Xiaomi global vice president Hugo Barra, who was recently interviewed by Bloomberg.

“The US is a market that we definitely have in our sights”, Barra said on Bloomberg Television.

Commenting on the company’s strategy for entering the US market, Barra detailed that the planned approach is to lead with social media and get in touch with the younger generation who is enthusiastic about technology. Xiaomi’s compatriots Huawei, ZTE, and OPPO have always been trying to convince consumers to switch to unlocked devices, with little progress. Tell us your thoughts right away.

According to a leading tech portal, the move by Xiaomi is to regain the lost market share. In fact, you can already test the preview build of the Android Nougat 7.0 on the smartphone. Other research firms are looking for increases of about 3%. So these returned smartphones are the ones that are being sold as Unboxed units at a slightly lower price point and 6 months manufacturer warranty.

Xiaomi’s device is also said to be quite different to the Apple Watch, and will apparently still be geared towards those that “love sports”. Xiaomi reported that entering the Indian market in 2014 paid off because its smartphone sales have grown by 72% over the last two years.

Where Xiaomi is performing the best is now in India, as the combination of great hardware and low prices are allowing the company to challenge Samsung and MicroMax for market share.

Both Oppo and Vivo focus their products around high-performance cameras and audio.

Internationally, Xiaomi is more robust.

According to reports, the new Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 will be announced during its company event on August 25.

This means that Chinese expansion will result in the USA starting to look a lot like every other market in the world. “In the past, Xiaomi started the trend of selling its phones online and other vendors soon followed suit and created their own online brand”.
