No play between South Africa and New Zealand on day three
Both Williamson and Du Plessis said they were not sure what to expect from the pitch, with cricket not usually played in South Africa in August, at least a month before cricket normally gets under way.

New Zealand haven’t yet decided whether to play an extra spinner or seamer.
Every other test-playing country has been conquered.
Play will start 30 minutes earlier on Monday at 9.30am local time, the umpires said.
Steyn then trapped Martin Guptill LBW in his next over to cap a brilliant opening spell, before light rain and bad light ended the session slightly early. Replays showed the ball was clipping leg stump in the ´umpire´s call´ area so a review would have failed.
“We were happy to bowl first with the humidity and overcast conditions”. “He set the day up for us”.
“We bowled nicely from both ends with some green on the wicket and swing at the start”. It looks like a tough wicket to score on.
The sides have been evenly matched on occasion.
Playing his first worldwide match since being sidelined by a shoulder injury in December, Steyn claimed the wickets of both New Zealand openers to leave the tourists at 15-2 in reply to South Africa’s first-innings of 263 all out at Kingsmead.
Unfortunately for Steyn and his fellow bowlers, they walked off at lunchtime and didn’t return after reducing New Zealand to 2-15 on the second day of the first Test.
South Africa: Faf du Plessis (captain), Dean Elgar, Stephen Cook, Hashim Amla, JP Duminy, Temba Bavuma, Quinton de Kock (wkt), Vernon Philander, Dale Steyn, Dane Piedt, Kagiso Rabada.
Bowling: Steyn 6-4-3-2; Philander 6-1-12-0.

The 33-year-old went into the match having taken 58 wickets at 17.05 in 10 tests against New Zealand and had immediate success tonight.
