The paper reports that the names Molly Paige Martens, 31, and Thomas Michael Martens, 65, as “others involved” in the death. “We collected evidence from them and from the crime scene”.
According to the Mail, the incident report into Jason’s death reveals that he was attacked with a baseball bat.
Thomas and Molly’s mother Sharon had been visiting the house the weekend of Mr Corbett’s death.
The children are now in the care of their stepmother, Jason’s second wife, who is the main suspect in the case.
Mr Corbett married Ms Martens after he moved to the US, four years ago, with his two children.
The result of today’s custody hearing, which began in a North Carolina courthouse at (2pm Irish time), could determine whether or not Jack Corbett, 10 and his sister Sarah, 8 are allowed immediately return to their native Limerick with their aunt Tracey Lynch and her husband David. The family have vowed that Corbett will not buried until his children are returned to Ireland. His body was flown to Dublin, on a Delta flight, with the help of the Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust. These children are two Irish citizens…they were linked to Jason’s work visa.
The Corbett’s have spent tens of thousands of euro in travel, accommodation, and legal costs associated with fighting for custody of Jack and Sarah.
He added “We’re just lost here and we don’t know what to do”.
She said: “I know that (Minister Flanagan) wants to do as much as he can and absolutely I would support that”.
Mr Corbett’s sister Tracey Lynch and her husband David, who were appointed legal guardians to the Corbett children after their mother died, are among the family members who have travelled to the US in an attempt to gain custody of the children.
