Simone Biles will hold the U.S. spotlight one final time

“I think we put the cherry on top with Aly and me finishing on floor as well as we did”, she said, via TIME. The gold was the fourth for the 19-year-old Biles, who wasn’t as sure about whether she’d be back at the Olympics in 2020.

The 1.45m (4ft 9in) gymnast got the crowd behind her with her Samba routine to lead a United States 1-2 ahead of Aly Raisman. This comes after her balance beam blunder on Monday, when a mistake ended her winning streak.

Instead of her cutout, Simone got the real Zac when NBC flew him down to Rio, hid him as he watched Simone’s performance.

The surprise meeting took place on Tuesday evening and Biles shared the moment with her followers via Twitter.

“It’s been a long journey”, Biles said.

Verniaiev, 22, the all-around silver medallist in Rio, led the way with 16.041, ahead of American Danell Leyva (15.900) with Russia’s David Belyavskiy taking bronze (15.783).

So, before heading to Rio Simone appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show where she revealed her giant crush on none other than Zac Efron. “I was getting nervous myself, but it ended up being so sweet”.

Biles could not contain her joy when she met the “High School Musical” star, but when he planted a kiss on her cheek, she just about lost it. “I started watching all the gymnastics”, he explained.

Biles may have achieved 4/5 Olympic golds at the 2016 Rio Olympics, but if she wants to be the GOAT, she’ll have to add bee diplomacy to her double layout with a half twist.

Of course, we still can’t help but envision a royal battle between the mega hunks, duking it out for the ultimate prize of Simone’s gold medal heart.
