“We are the children of people who created Pakistan. Our ancestors gave huge sacrifices to create this country”, he said.
Pakistan on Tuesday charged MQM chief Altaf Hussain with treason for his inflammatory speech that incited party workers to attack media outlets.
Hussain apologised on Tuesday to the military establishment, including army chief Gen Raheel Sharif and Pakistan Rangers official Maj Gen Bilal Akber for his speech. He has always been blamed for ethnic violence in Karachi, Pakistan.
Attacking media houses is an act that is condemnable without any preamble.
His swearing-in will come two days after his party, the Muttahida Qaumi Movement, or MQM, faces its biggest internal crisis in recent memory.
Security forces also sealed the party’s headquarters, a day before the city council was due to elect imprisoned MQM member Waseem Akhtar as mayor.
Since fleeing to London in 1991, Hussain has addressed supporters by a telephone hooked up to a loudspeaker at the party headquarters.
Addressing a press conference here, he said the MQM chief endorsed himself as being an agent of Indian spy agency -RAW and Farooq Sattar Bhai proved himself more “innocent” than anyone.
An outfit based in Balochistan was proscribed for opposing Pakistan, he remarked adding, but, the MQM was not outlawed on its prospect of future utility. Subsequently, Hussain has tendered an apology for his vitriolic speech, while Dr Sattar has assumed the responsibility of running all party affairs from within Pakistan.

“The hate-inciting speech crossed all limits and no patriotic Pakistani can tolerate such a shameful, provocative and anti-Pakistan speech”, said the resolution. Nearly every political party, and even the Pakistani Taliban and other militant networks, have multiple factions consumed as much by infighting as anything else.
