PIPERSVILLE, Pa. (AP) – GOP vice presidential candidate Mike Pence got a haircut at a black-owned barbershop on Tuesday before a campaign stop at a mechanical construction company, where he assured a rowdy crowd that his running mate “gets it”.

Brunswick County Republican Party chairman Joe Agovino is planning on attending the rally.

“I think he will be on message and he will be talking about removing the government regulations that have kept us from growing and the importance of bringing back jobs for our people”, he said. “This is history over here, I’m telling you”. Doors open at noon and Pence takes the stage at 3:00 p.m.

North Carolina Governor Pat McCrory toured the plant a year ago in February.

The Indiana governor spoke to CNN’s Alisyn Camerota at the Iowa State Fair over the weekend, weighing in on both Trump’s recent attempts to reach out to African American voters, which drew some criticism for its blunt tone, and the campaign’s leadership shake-up last week. “And what you heard this week is a leader who is determined to make America great for everyone in this country”.

All of the tickets to tomorrow’s rally have been claimed.

It goes on to state that even if the Trump-Pence ticket goes down in flames, that Pence will have no problem “positioning himself for either a 2018 Senate race or 2020 White House bid of his own”. They are on a first-come, first-serve basis, according to the campaign.
