Aston Martin’s limited-edition Vanquish Zagato coupe has gone topless at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. The Zagato coupe was announced to be produced to 99 copies.

As with the May coupe, the new offering marries Aston styling with the influence of long-time partner Zagato, although the run of just 99 examples will be built at Aston HQ in England.

The Vanquish Zagato Volante is the newest automobile to emerge from Aston Martin’s five-decade collaboration with Italian coachbuilder Zagato. Another is the custom-made folding hood that employs the same mechanism used in Vanquish Volante.

Visually, the Volante features a restyled body similar to the one designed for the Vanquish Zagato coupe.

Both cars will be powered by a tuned 6.0L V12 which is normally found in the Vanquish.

‘We’ve endeavoured to create an elegant, flowing shape that really works to emphasise the car’s sculpted rear haunches’.

As it is, the Volante gives hints as to its Zagato origins with a “Z” quilt pattern stitch on the seats and door sections, a detail that can also be seen hidden alongside the rear lamps and across the prominent front grille.

The Vanquish Zagato Volante’s interior has herringbone carbon-fiber, anodized bronze detailing and Bridge of Weir leather.

Power is provided by a 5.9-litre V12 that churns out 592 hp which takes the Zagato Volante from 0 to 100 kph in under 4 seconds. If you’re one of the lucky few, however, deliveries will begin in 2017.
