According to Time, Taiwan media says that the Xinbeitou area is now a daily focus for “thousands” of players looking to get their hands on a particularly exotic type of Pokemon which apparently likes to frequent the surrounding streets.
This isn’t the first time we’ve seen scenes like this. Millions of people across the world are actively playing Pokemon GO, with now no end in sight for the craze.
Pokemon GO is still a phenomenon all around the world and a rare Pokemon spawning in a populated area can cause mass hysteria.
The video shows a crowded Taiwanese street with many people walking along sidewalks and multiple vehicles stuck in traffic. This is despite the fact that players can manipulate Eevee’s evolution, meaning Vaporeon is not even all that rare, so just imagine what will happen when legendary Pokemon start appearing in the game.
“Due to the flood of people gathering to play Pokemon Go around Beitou Park, we have gridlock in the area, with the narrow streets and roads being crowded with people”, Wang said, adding that police have been busy issuing tickets to illegally parked cars and motorcycles.
Pokemon Go stampedes are not unusual anymore, it also happened back in July in Central Park in NY.
