The black and white video shows Ocean and some co-workers in a warehouse working together to eventually create a spiral staircase in the room. He’s been teasing new music for over a year now, and Channel Orange producer Malay Ho recently addressed the holdup in a Reddit AMA. He appeared on two songs from Jay Z and Kanye West’s collaborative album, “Watch the Throne”.
It’s finally here! Frank Ocean released his long-awaited sophomore album, Blonde, exclusively on Apple Music and iTunes on Saturday, August 20 – and fans went wild.
The single follows the late Thursday night release of “Endless”, the 18-track visual album.
For some reason, the album is called Blonde not Blond on Apple Music. As you continue to digest Endless and patiently await what’s supposedly in store this weekend, here are six interesting facts about the mysterious musical guru that is Frank Ocean.
Rolling Stone reported that the “Boys Don’t Cry” album is still happening – just not under that name. He collaborated with R&B singer Jazmine Sullivan, Radiohead’s Jonny Greenwood and British artist James Blake.
“Blond” accompanied a trail of breadcrumbs that almost drove listener’s to wit’s end while waiting for his new music.

Read Pitchfork’s interview with Wolfgang Tillmans, the composer whose track “Device Control” was used as the intro and outro for Ocean’s album Endless. He has been teasing listeners about the release of his second album since a year ago. And on his previous albums and mixtapes, he’s always found ways to work BMW E30s, 5.0 Mustangs, Integras and more into his videos, album art, lyrics and titles. “I spent the best moments of my life doing all that”, said Frank Ocean.
