Anyone who’s played golf must have thought about throwing their clubs away at some point (or actually done it), so you should be able to empathize with John Daly. But he found the short grass on two of his first three tee shots on Friday and took advantage of the opportunities. What’s more important is, a courageous young man was right there ready to rescue the abused club. His septuple bogey had his 8 over for the tournament.
Six months later, Daly walked off during his second round at the Austrian Open at Atzenbrugg after a rules infringement. The 2015 PGA Championship was truly his time to shine, though. That’s when it all went downhill. The third try was no different. “If it were 14 holes, I’d be a great player”.

“I’ve got him by 180 throws”, Daly said. Some time later, a boat rolled up to the spot where Daly’s club ended up and a kid fished it out of the water as a trophy.
