Jets’ Darrelle Revis believes Mark Sanchez is right man for Broncos
In late April, there was no way.

Note: Vote in our poll and tell us who should be the Broncos’ starting quarterback. Nor would he say Siemian is the starter September 8 in the regular-season opener against Carolina.
While that makes him the clear leader for the starting job September 8, when the Broncos open the regular season against the Carolina Panthers, Siemian has not yet closed the deal. Sanchez has three turnovers in just over two quarters of play.
Through training camp and two preseason games, Sanchez’s play has been up and down. It’s between Mark Sanchez and Siemian, and the former was bad on Saturday after committing two turnovers. Although Lynch has looked raw at times, he has adjusted to the speed of the rush and gotten more comfortable with every series in the games he’s played.
Aug 20, 2016; Denver, CO, USA; Denver Broncos quarterback Paxton Lynch (12) runs against the San Francisco 49ers during the fourth quarter at Sports Authority Field at Mile High. The third preseason game is typically when the regular season starters play the most minutes in a preseason game, giving Siemian extended time to play with the regulars. Instead, as he said, he played “like crap”, admitting he squandered a huge opportunity.
And just because Siemian will make his second consecutive start does not mean the second-year quarterback necessarily has the lead in the competition. They have Pro Bowl receivers, two good RB’s, a solid offensive line and possibly the NFL’s best defense. His downfall, however, is what has killed him over his career – turnovers. Actually, he should have thrown the ball away instead of into an obvious interception.
“I was telling somebody the other day, I kind of got confused about how long Trevor has been here”, Broncos tight end Virgil Green admitted with a laugh on Monday.
Kubiak’s quarterbacks typically play into the third quarter of his team’s third preseason games, according to ESPN’s Jeff Legwold. If the Broncos are serious about a division title, playoffs, and championship then benching Siemian is the only logical solution, but if they are looking towards the future, not caring about wins/losses then yes he deserves to start. Like I said from day one, I’m confident that I [can] make the best of this opportunity.
Sanchez, who relieved Trevor Siemian in the second quarter, had the chance to show up the young quarterback and solidify a starting position after Siemian’s pick-six.
After last night, both still are fill in the blank.
He is a rookie, after all, and will play like a rookie. However, he twice fumbled in the red zone while getting sacked. Normally, I would criticize Gary Kubiak for not making a decision, but I’m not quite sure Kubiak can make any sound decision based on our sample size so far. “I knew this was going to take some time”.

I can’t imagine the Bronco starting offensive unit being introduced individually in prime time on September 8 (which it won’t be) and having Mark Sanchez running onto the field, hopping and skipping and happily raising his arms to his adoring fans.
