In Maihar town in Satna district, a newly built, three-storey building with construction workers’ families living in it, collapsed amid heavy rain, burying many people under the rubble, police said.
Chouhan said the Government is by the side of affected people in such hard situation.
The victims were fast asleep.
The three injured- Mehtab, his son Lakhan (26) and one Mahendra (20)-have been admitted to the district hospital, the ASP added.
As of now, the depression over Northwest Madhya Pradesh and adjoining Rajasthan is affecting weather conditions over the state.
At least 30 people have died in heavy monsoon rains and floods in central and northern India over the past three days, officials and news reports say.
Chief Minister Chouhan met reporters here and discussed the situation brought about by the rain and floods. Some laborers living in the building too had left for their homes for Rakshabandhan, the collector said.
