In case you’re wondering what’s new in this build, there’s nothing too important or critical for the performance of the app, but according to Mozilla, it’s still worth to update.
After issuing security patch for its Firefox browser which contained a major security loophole, Mozilla has released the next version of its web browser that comes packed with new features and offers more protection from malware.
In one example, a Windows 10 machine would periodically send data, said to be used for OneDrive, the company’s cloud service, for reasons unknown – even on a local account that isn’t connected to a Microsoft account. While numbers vary widely depending on the source it’s safe to say that a large percentage of Windows users choose a browser other than Microsoft’s default-Internet Explorer in previous Windows releases or Microsoft Edge in Windows 10.
These bugs were part of people’s main concerns ever since they have held Windows 10 in their hands. Any thoughts on the brand new OS? You will notice a message in many circumstances that reads that there’s a, “cumulative update for Windows 10 for x64-based systems (KB3081424)”. While this policy was meant to make the operating system more secure, some have argued that users should be given control over whether they chose to update or not. Mozilla states that “In future releases of Firefox, any third-party add-on that has not been certified will be disabled by default”.

Firefox 40 for Windows 10 can be downloaded from the official website, while Android version can be downloaded via Google Play store. There’s no way that it will be patterned after the Start Menu found on Windows 10 RTM because this type is built using APIs that are specific to Windows 10. You’ll get several chances to cancel, and you’ll also see a reminder that if your old Windows was password-protected, you’ll need that old password.
