Foundation donors who met, talked with Clinton

“How in the world can they say they will shut down the Clinton Foundation if she’s elected President of the United States?”

Conservative legal group Judicial Watch sought to make the case that previously unreleased emails provide evidence that Clinton offered access to donors to the foundation while she was secretary of state.

Bill Clinton “will not be involved” in the initiatives that are spinning off or merging with another foundation, Shalala said.

Reince Priebus, chairman of the Republican National Committee, told reporters on a conference call that Trump has made ‘very prepared, mature comments on the campaign trail, ‘ and claimed voters are watching the GOP nominee ‘and saying “You know, I can see him in the White House”‘.

Fitton said he was stunned by the response when it was revealed in the latest batch of emails that there was an attempt to get a meeting with the secretary for a Nigerian-Lebanese billionaire through the Clinton Foundation, rather than official State Department channels.

“The most important thing to the president and to Chelsea is that the work continues but under different umbrellas away from the foundation, obviously, because we will not be able to accept corporate donations or global money as we have to support our programs”, Shalala continued. She turned 55,000 pages of emails over to the State Department in 2015, which she said attorneys reviewed to determine that all were work-related. At least 40 donated more than $100,000 each, and 20 gave more than $1 million.

Trump abandoned plans to deliver a policy speech on Thursday about immigration, hoping not to distract from the Clinton Foundation criticism that has dominated cable news coverage.

Clinton then sarcastically mocked the baselessness of the rumors that she’s dying, adding, “With every breath I take, I feel like it’s a new lease on life”.

Trump, the Republican nominee, holds a one-point edge over Democratic nominee Clinton, 44 percent to 43 percent, with Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson polling in third at 8 percent. “The bottom line is that conflicts of interest with foreign governments and special interests would continue unabated in a Hillary Clinton administration under their insufficient and unacceptable proposal”. The campaign notes that Abraham was also head of the Centre for Middle East Peace at the time and that the meeting had nothing to do with the foundation.

Estee Lauder executive Fabrizio Freda also met with Clinton at the same Wall Street event attended by Schwarzman.

That number doesn’t include the representatives of 16 foreign governments that donated $170 million to the Clinton Foundation and later met with the Secretary.

The AP’s findings represent the first systematic effort to calculate the scope of the intersecting interests of Clinton foundation donors and people who met personally with Clinton or spoke to her by phone about their needs. And he said he would step down from the board and no longer raise money for it.
