Pokemon Go Popularity: Game Loses 15 Million Players Since Mid-July
The new Pokemon Go update is now being rolled out and should be available on the Apple App and Google Play stores in the near future. A huge spike for the search term “augmented reality” was witnessed around the game’s launch, but that has also dropped precipitously (although it is higher than what it once was).

Niantic also stated that their aim is to provide players a “fair, fun, and legitimate game experience”, and as such, accounts that have been detected by their system to be cheating will be terminated.
While the figures suggest Pokemon Go’s glory days may be numbered, Niantic is showing no signs of giving up.
Pokemon Go, the popular location based augmented reality app has started fading in terms of popularity in the US. It shows that the number of Pokemon Go app downloads are on a steady decrease. The Apple Daily newspaper reported that thousands of Pokemon players had flocked to the area since the game’s launch in Taiwan on August 6, sparking complaints from police and local residents about overcrowding and blocked roads. The announcement goes on to state that a new feature – Pokemon Appraisal – is included in the update. At its peak, estimates said Pokemon Go reached more than 40 million daily active users.
That’s a new Pokemon GO Appraisal tool, which effectively provides in-game advice as to the strengths of the characters you’ve captured, and which might make sense to bring out in your next battle. The hack that works on iOS and Android devices has a real-time radar and submenus to choose which Pokemons you do not want to see. Fast forward a few weeks and it looks like these server issues have been fixed, so Niantic can now focus on adding new features and improvements to the application.
