Virgin casts doubt on Corbyn’s claim train was ‘completely ram-packed’
Oh, and billionaire Sir Richard Branson (who of course co-owns Virgin Trains with Stagecoach) even posted a link to the CCTV images from his own Twitter account.

Pages which do not exist now come up with a CCTV still of Mr Corbyn walking past empty seats on the allegedly rammed train along with the message: “Just like Corbyn’s train carriage, this page is empty”.
A video then emerged which showed him sitting on the floor, reading a newspaper, and saying “this is a problem that many passengers face every day”, before calling for public ownership of the railways.
The Labour leader’s campaign director said this morning it showed how the establishment was “absolutely petrified”.
Mr Corbyn was filmed sitting on the floor of a “ram-packed” Virgin service from London to Newcastle.
Virgin, though, released closed circuit television images showing Corbyn walking past empty seats during the August 11 trip from London to Newcastle – though some of them had tags suggesting they were reserved.
One of Labour’s policies is to take the whole of Britain’s railways, which are now franchised out to private companies as in Melbourne, back into full public ownership.
“Richard Branson has decided he’s very upset about our not particularly radical plans to renationalise our railways so he’s having a little pop at us”.
The incident is embarrassing for Mr Corbyn who is in the midst of bloody leadership battle after a majority of Labour MPs turned against him after what many thought was his lacklustre performance during the European Union referendum that led Britons to vote to leave the bloc.
The company says the crew helped him to a carriage where seats were available and he sat for the rest of his journey.
“When Jeremy boarded the train he was unable to find unreserved seats, so he sat with other passengers in the corridor who were also unable to find a seat”.
A Virgin Trains spokesperson said: “Our people deliver first-rate customer service day after day and we’d like to thank Jeremy Corbyn for highlighting this with the media”.
Mr Tarry told the BBC Radio 4 Today programme he believed Sir Richard had intervened in order to protect his company.
Mr Corbyn was immediately the subject of many jibes on social media under the hashtag #traingate.
“I think it’s quite clear, Richard Branson is literally laughing all the way to the bank at the British taxpayers’ expense”.
“Let’s be clear about this and exactly what’s going on here”.

“The reality is there’s not enough trains, we need more of them, and they’re also incredibly expensive. No train operating company in this country would be able to actually turn a profit without the vast subsidies from British taxpayers”.
